This oak table, produced during the Arts and Crafts movement c.1900, was designed for domestic use as a card or games table, its balanced construction typical of the period. The rectangular top is supported on chamfered, tapering legs joined by a plain apron enclosing a single drawer with stylised copper handles.
The restrained composition aligns with the ideals of designers such as Ernest Gimson and Ambrose Heal, who favoured clear structure over decorative excess. Constructed in solid oak, the table retains its original finish, the handles showing a warm patina consistent with age.
Dating to c.1900, this example represents the mature phase of the Arts and Crafts aesthetic, balancing functional design with quiet craftsmanship.
