These are two Anglo-Japanese brass planters, originally designed to complement Jeckyll's timeless fireplaces, for planting flowers to have in the fireplace in the summer months when it was not in use and for use as little herb gardens. We have two available, with photos together coming soon.
One is 46 cm wide, the other 41 cm wide. Registered design diamond mark on interior for June 20th, 1876.
This design was registered by Barnard Bishop & Barnard on June 20th, 1876 with registered design number 301325 as a "Stand for an ornament". National Archives Reference: B T 43/40/301325.
