Music cabinet in walnut, in the style of E. W. Godwin, aligned to the Aesthetic Movement (1860–1890) in its Anglo-Japanese mode, c.1880, British. The cabinet has an inset square top above a dentil-moulded frieze and an open shelf section cut with Japanese-style cloud openings.

The lower cupboard is fitted with fielded panels to the visible sides, using stepped moulding and inset rectangular geometry reminiscent of panels Godwin often used. The door opens to a divided interior for music storage, with vertical compartments set behind the main panelled front.

The base is raised on splayed legs joined by shaped lower aprons. These cloud-form cut-outs repeat the language of the upper shelf, giving the cabinet a clear vertical order: inset top, open display shelf, enclosed music storage and lifted base.
