This Arts and Crafts Vaseline glass shade dates to around 1900 and exemplifies the luminous quality of Aesthetic Naturalism in late nineteenth-century decorative glass. The hand-blown form is patterned with a cross-hatched diamond texture that widens into a ruffled starfish-shaped base, designed to refract and diffuse light.
