Attributed to E. W. Godwin and made by Collinson & Lock, this display cabinet in walnut, glass, brass and velvet aligns to the Aesthetic Movement (c.1860 to c.1900), c.1880. The upper case has twin astragal glazed doors opening to a plush blue velvet lined interior, The upper glazed doors carry elongated brass loop drop handles on basket weave back plates, a handle type also recorded on a Puritan Values sold archive rosewood sideboard stamped Collinson & Lock. Above the doors, the cornice is formed with a double row of dentil moulding, giving the cabinet a strong architectural upper register.

The lower section is arranged with a bow fronted drawer section, two smaller drawers above one long drawer. Each drawer front is set with line inlaid borders and fitted with simple gilded brass swan neck handles with stylised sunflower back plates.

The whole stood on square section legs with simple block transitions terminating on Sheritan Revival spade feet. A shaped lower open shelf links the legs and gives the base a lighter, more open structure.
