Liberty & Co Desks & Bureau's

L&Co 1 - Probably the rarest & best Liberty & Co Bureau bookcase in the world. The whole piece is stupendous quality & made from 1/4 sawn on with fantastic figuring. The metalwork is hand hammered copper of the highest quality.

The motto is by Alexander Pope & reads :-

Words are like leaves & where they most abound,

Much fruit of sense beneath is rarely found.

It measures Height 5' 7", Width 44" & Depth 14". It has it's original ivorene label in the drawer not that it needs it but it's nice. This needs no further introduction. Circa 1890. Priced at £SOLD.

L&Co 3 - An rare Liberty & Co Arts & Crafts oak bureau with fantastic hand made copper hinges to the drop down front which opens to reveal writing area & pigeon holes flanked by a drawer to each side, the back with bookshelves enclosed by turned spindles united by a circular disc with moorish shaped details to the top of the splayed & turned legs united by twin stretchers all round & on ball feet. Circa 1895. Height 75", Depth 23", Length 60". £1595.

L&Co 5 - A fine quality Liberty & Co dark oak bureau bookcase with bookshelves to the top & fall down writing area opening to reveal pigeon holes adorned with wonderful stylised strap hinges & handles flanked by 4 further bookshelves with centre drawer below & 2 further bookshelves flanked by 2 cupboards on sledge style feet. Height 53 1/4", Width 43", Depth 13". Circa 1880's. £1495.

L&C 8 - An Oak Arts & Crafts fall front bureau by Liberty & Co, with copper handles & hinges, protruding bookshelves on each side with further bookshelves below & gentle curves to the top with stylised cutout. Circa 1900. Height 44", Width 39", Depth 13". £695.

L&C 9 - A rare Liberty and Co Moorish/Anglo Japanese desk Superb quality in Walnut with Musharabieh turnings to the top, two drawers at each side & two drawers above the writing area (which needs re-leathering to the colour of your choice). Would originally have L&Co fabric below upper shelf as there is dowelling for this purpose, one would choose new fabric to fit in with the interior one has. Super Lions heads handles. Height 49", Width 36", Depth 20". £1295.

LC 11 - TWO Wonderful Arts & Crafts drop front oak bureau's by Liberty & Co, stamped L&Co on the handle back plates, one with strap hinges to front, this one illustrated without. Circa 1900. Priced at £995 each. Dimensions - 'Approx' Height 52 1/2", Depth 10", Width 27". L&Co - A superb oak bureau bookcase by Liberty & Co, the flaring cornice with Motto below which reads :- 'Knowledge Is Power'. 2 lead & glazed doors with heart details to the glass with adjustable shelves behind, writing area with pierced heart just above, drawer & cupboard below, stylised copper handles & strap hinges stamped L&Co to the handle drops, excellent quality thoughout.
